How does the Joy Art Project work?

Why the Joy Project?
Two reasons: For a designer, creating something positive is a form of self-therapy. Two: It’s tough out there and reminding people of good things in their lives is a good thing. Trying to make the world a little better five seconds at a time. Sharing a little Joy goes a long way.

Are Joys for sale?
Nope. The idea of selling Joy just doesn’t feel right. That said, I have produced Joy art pieces. Keeping with the theme, all artist fees from Joy sales will be donated to community food banks.

Can I order Pocket Joys?
Sorry, but no.

Can I make my own Joys?
You bet! If you have a 3D printer and want to make your Joys the files are free and available. Make them. Share them. Please! I share Pocket Joys and all of my other 3D printable designs at Thingiverse and Printables.

How does the Joy Art Project work?
To keep the Joy project fresh, I like to make larger, unique, one-off Joys and give them away to strangers. Each Joy is unique and packed in a mylar bag with a label on the outside that includes a QR code that takes you to this site and a special number so the receiver can see their special Joy and all the other special Joys in the collection. One of the core ideas in this project is the element of surprise. This is free art. No strings attached. Most special Joys are mailed out to strangers around the country.
