Why the Joy Project?
Two reasons: For a designer, it’s a form of self-therapy. Two: It’s tough out there and people need to be reminded of the good things in their lives. If you’re reminded of it once in a while, a little Joy in your life goes a long way.

Are Joys for sale?
Nope. The idea of selling Joy just doesn’t feel right. Know what I mean? That said, the three art pieces produced for the 2022 Northwind Gallery 4X4 show June 9 – August 6, in Port Townsend (Joy Box, Joy Forward and Big Joy) are for sale at $500 each. Keeping with the themes, all artist fees from Joy sales will be donated to community food banks.

Can I order Pocket Joys?
See above.

Can I make Joys?
If you have a 3D printer and want to make your own Joys, you bet. Make them. Share them. Please! I share Pocket Joy and other 3D printable designs at Thingiverse and Printables.

How does the Joy Art Project work?
To keep Joy fresh, I like make larger, unique, one-off Joys and give them away to strangers. Each is Joy is packed in a mylar bag with a label on the outside that includes a QuickCode that takes you to this side and a special number to the receiver can see their special Joy and all the others special Joys in the collection. One of the concepts in this project is the element of surprise. No strings attached. Just are art. Most special Joys will be mailed out to complete strangers around the country.
