The Joy Project
The JOY Project. The idea is simple. Create and share reminders of positive thoughts with friends, family, and mostly strangers: Joy. I designed a simple charm/token that feels good in your hand to carry in a pocket, purse, or bag. Pocket Joy. Over the last five years, I’ve handed out over 11,000 Joys to pretty much everyone I meet. In return, I’ve received many wonderful smiles and promises to share their JOY with others who may need it even more.
Joy Art Project
The JOY Art Project. After giving away so many Pocket Joys, it was time to try something different. I’m creating larger, collectible, very special Joys. Joy as art. Each unique Joy is packaged with an explanation and unique number and selectively handed out or anonymously mailed to strangers around the country. If you received a unique Joy, you can find it by clicking the gallery link below. If you wish, share a few thoughts about what gives you Joy in your life.
I’m a designer. I create and share a series of 3D printable designs in an effort to put more positive energy into the air. One of the designs became the little Joys you can carry in your pocket.
I’ve also created a few special pieces of Joy art to accompany wood and resin sculpture when I show my work in galleries. The large piece on your right is called Big Joy.
